CATTLE DECAPITATION - TO SERVE MAN Vinyl LP
The first album "Human Jerky" was released by Reno, Nevada's, Satan's Pimp Records on LP format only. The album sold out of 1,000 copies within a week. This success was due largely to the fact that the band consisted of members of The Locust. Soon, Cattle Decapitation developed their own following in the grindcore/hardcore circuit. Having never toured the US and only a few shows outside their native San Diego habitat, the band still continued to sell records and managed to get together a slew of songs in the same year for their second album release, "Homovore". The album came out within nine months of "Human Jerky" and was released as a beautifully disturbing gatefold-cow-colored vinyl as well as CD. "Homovore" established the band, trashing rumors that they were merely a one off side project.
This transition would officially mark CATTLE DECAPITATION as the new ugly face in extreme music. The band has consistently tour the West Coast, and into Mexico, where some international acts won't dare play. Fans quickly gravitated toward the dreary gore tinged nature of CATTLE DECAPITATION, and would feed on everything CATTLE DECAPITATION did. Throughout 2001 and into 2002 CATTLE DECAPITATION performances, which are primarily all age events, result in astounding attendance. Their fans are overwhelmingly supportive; literally cleaning out the merchandise booths at all shows. A fact that the band is acutely aware of, making sure that they keep on hand massive amounts of vinyl, t-shirts, patches, CD's and buttons for their insatiable fans. The band's stance on moral, political and personal issues are made evident via www.cattedecapitation.com, where links to PETA, Cows Are Cool and various other animal rights groups share space with sites as diverse as The Church of Euthanasia and Strictly Amateur Films. Their loyalty to the extreme underground has not gone un-rewarded, as the band continues to draw fans from around the world through word of mouth and the Internet. Not only is CATTLE DECAPITATION the most extreme and talented band to come out of San Diego, it probably isn't much of a stretch to say that CATTLE DECAPITAION could be the most severe, authentic Southern California quintet since Slayer.
Imagery has played a significant role in CATTLE DECAPITATION's rise in popularity, in the past, utilizing the works of famous Argentinean artist NELSON GARRIDO, known for his graphic art created from road kill. For their Metal Blade Records debut, "To Serve Man", CATTLE DECAPITATION has enlisted the infamous, award winning and controversial artist WES BENSCOTER (Slayer, Mortician, Broken Hope) to fashion an album cover worthy of, and in excess of their past efforts. "To Serve Man" is definitely not be for the weak at heart.
